How to use Peeksolve

Install it, answer four quick questions, press one shortcut. Every step is on this page, with short videos of the real thing.

No settings to fiddle with and no card needed. Peeksolve sets itself up from your answers.

Add it to Chrome

Open Peeksolve in the Chrome Web Store, click Add to Chrome, then Add extension. Edge, Brave, Arc and other Chromium browsers work the same way.

Answer four questions

Click the Peeksolve icon in Chrome’s toolbar (behind the puzzle piece until you pin it) and start the setup. Tell it what you need, which subjects and how answers should look. Peeksolve sets everything up from that.

Already have an account? Click Sign in on the first page and your settings come back.

Sign in and try it

Sign in with Google or your email: 5 free answers a day. The last page gives you a practice question. Press ⌘⇧L and the answer appears.

Tip: pin Peeksolve to your toolbar. Click the puzzle piece at the top right of Chrome, then the pin next to Peeksolve. Its menu is then always one click away.

Answer a question on your screen Free

For tests, quizzes and anything you can see: text, maths, charts and pictures.

  1. Open the page with the question.
  2. Press ⌘⇧L.
  3. The answer appears in the bottom-right corner. Pick it and carry on.

Only part of the page? Turn on “Crop area” in the Peeksolve menu, then drag a box around the question.

Explain a word or translate text Free

When you don’t understand something you are reading.

  1. Select the word or the sentence.
  2. Press ⌘⇧K.
  3. The explanation appears in the corner.

Translations too: select a sentence in any language and press the same keys.

Like a chat, right on the page you are on.

  1. Press ⌘⇧K with nothing selected.
  2. Type your question and press Enter.
  3. Read the answer. Esc closes the box.

Got a picture? Paste it into the box (⌘V) or drag it in, then ask about it.

Fill in a form or quiz Pro

Peeksolve reads every question on the page and fills in the answers: choices, dropdowns and text.

  1. Open the form or quiz.
  2. Press ⌘⇧E.
  3. Check the answers, then click Apply.

Just one question? Click into that field first, then press the keys. Want it to fill in without asking? Settings → Auto-fill → “Fill in right away”.

Get through a test with several pages Pro

God Mode fills in each page and clicks “Next” for you, until the end.

  1. Open the first page of the test.
  2. Press ⌘⇧G.
  3. It stops before “Submit”, so you can check everything and hand it in yourself.

Stop it any time with Esc. Prefer to click “Next” yourself? Settings → Auto-fill → “One page at a time”.

Summarize a long page Pro

Articles, readings and long emails in a few sentences.

  1. Open the article.
  2. Press your summary keys: ⌘⇧S if you picked summaries in the setup.
  3. Read the summary in the corner.

No keys yet? Settings → Shortcuts → “Summarize this page” → Change.

Make Peeksolve yours

Click the Peeksolve icon in your toolbar, then the gear. Everything saves by itself.

  • Answers: just the answer, the answer with a reason, or step by step, in the language you want.
  • Shortcuts: pick other keys if these clash with something, and test them.
  • Look: text size and colors of the answer box.
  • Auto-fill (Pro): see the answers first, or fill in right away.

Want to start over? Settings → “Run setup again” asks the four questions again.

Nothing happens when I press the keys

Another app or extension may be using the same keys. Open Peeksolve’s Settings → Shortcuts and click Test my shortcuts. If a shortcut doesn’t arrive, click Change and pick other keys. You can also set them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

It says “Peeksolve isn’t set up yet”

You are not signed in yet. Click Set up Peeksolve in that message, or click the Peeksolve icon in your toolbar. It takes about a minute.

It doesn’t work on this page

Chrome doesn’t let any extension read its own pages: new tabs, settings, chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store. PDFs opened in Chrome’s built-in PDF viewer can’t be read either. Normal websites, online quizzes and learning platforms all work.

It doesn’t work on a file from my computer

Chrome blocks files on your computer until you allow it once: open chrome://extensions, click Details under Peeksolve and turn on Allow access to file URLs.

It says I’ve used today’s free answers

The free plan has 5 answers a day, and they come back at midnight (UTC). Need more today? A Day Pass unlocks everything for 24 hours; Pro has no daily limit. See pricing.

The answer box is in the way

Drag it by its top edge to move it, drag a corner to make it bigger or smaller, and press Esc to close it. Text size and colors are in Settings → Look.

The answers are too short, too long or in the wrong language

Settings → Answers: choose “Just the answer”, “Answer + reason” or “Step by step”, and the language you want. It applies to every shortcut.

Can’t use the Chrome Web Store?Install Peeksolve from a ZIP file instead.
  1. Download peeksolve.zip.
  2. Unzip it. Mac: double-click it. Windows: right-click → Extract All. Keep the peeksolve folder somewhere safe.
  3. Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode at the top right.
  4. Click Load unpacked and choose the peeksolve folder.
  5. Click the Peeksolve icon in the toolbar and start the setup. Answer the four questions and you are ready.

This copy doesn’t update by itself. The Chrome Web Store version does, so use that one if you can.
